Kim Stockwood is a dynamo! Irresistible live and on camera, Kim performs with effortless ease as television host, solo star and member of hit pop trio, Shaye. Kim has an energy that jumps off the stage and embraces her audience!
2006 was a whirlwind year that saw the recording and release of a new solo project and the recording of a new Shaye cd – all while raising two young sons. Released in November 2006, “I Love Santa” is a sincere and heartfelt tribute to the musical standards of Christmas past ... from Radio City to Dean Martin’s Vegas showroom. The cd received glowing reviews and yielded a #12 A/C hit with Kim’s original “Home This Christmas” – a tribute to her beloved Newfoundland. “I Love Santa” is a contemporary holiday classic that brings Kim full circle, back to the music that sparked her love for performing. Shaye (Kim, Damhnait Doyle & Tara MacLean) continued to perform even as they wrote for their second recording, “Lake of Fire.” The title track quickly hit #13 on the A/C charts and the second single “You’re Not Alone” is already getting a great response. “Lake of Fire” was released February 2007, and Kim, Dav and Tara will be busy promoting it over the next year with interviews, concerts and a reality/documentary television series – an authentic, unscripted and sometimes hysterical glimpse behind the entertainment curtain. Kim’s versatility and talent keep her crazy busy as an entertainer, performer, writer and host. With an impressive track record behind her – smash hits like “Jerk,” “12 Years Old” and “Happy Baby” - and two new projects, Kim has a bright future.

QUOTES
“The Newfoundland singer-songwriter, best known of late for her work with Shaye, serves up delightful renditions of classic holiday fare like Holly Jolly Christmas.”
“I Love Santa (turtlemusik) is the kind of upbeat and spunky disc you’d expect from the singer who first serenaded us with a song called Jerk.”
"…dazzling, pop-based sophomore album, ‘12 Years Old’…"
"'12 Years Old’ reflects her growth as an artist."
"…Stockwood has that soul feeling in her vocal attack…"
"Although a little lighter lyrically (than Jann Arden), Stockwood is equal to the task as a brassy, ballsy comedy frontwoman."
"Her singing is as vivid as the outcast kid slouching through the song Little Margaret…Stockwood knows that even good stories require a good storyteller. With a lovely voice and snapshot lyrics, she delivers both."
"Stockwood’s meteoric rise to fame has become the stuff of Canadian music-industry legend."
"…becoming a first-class songwriter…maturing songwriter and song stylist who happens to be a very gracious human being."
"…smoothly blended rhythms and textures…strength still comes from Stockwood’s personality."
"…newfound maturity and depth: These 13 tracks ring with honest emotions, thoughtful lyrics and mature themes like vulnerability and isolation." Winnipeg Sun
"The maturity on Stockwood’s sophomore album is astounding, particularly her rich, warm vocals."
"…they allow Stockwood to marshal the full range of her voice – from upbeat popster, to Sheryl Crow-esque rocker, to that wonderful, deep, husky blues-inflected voice Stockwood was famous for in the early days of her career."
